Sen. Richard Blumenthal is calling for an immediate ban on the sale of all flavored vaping products, saying they heighten the risk of spreading COVID-19.
Vaping products send a mist into the air, which is then inhaled into the lungs and exhaled by the user.
According to doctors, if the person has COVID-19, the mist is like a magic carpet for the deadly virus to infect others.
Sen. Blumenthal is advocating an immediate halt to the sale of all flavored tobacco and vaping products because he says they aggravate lung infections and make people more susceptible to coronavirus.
He says teens and young adults find the products especially alluring. Blumenthal also points to studies showing an epidemic of vaping that makes smokers much more likely to suffer complications from coronavirus.
