A Bridgeport police K-9 officer was involved in a crash, police say.

The incident happened Sunday night at the intersection of State and Yale streets.

The officer was driving along State Street when she was hit by another driver making a turn.

Police say the driver of the other vehicle, who has not been identified, ran a stop sign, and received several citations.

The officer was transported to the hospital for treatment while the other driver refused medical attention at the scene.
