Grab-and-Go meals at city public schools have been essential since the pandemic hit, providing meals to students and adults, but officials say the schedule is changing for people.
Grab-and-Go meals operate starting at 7:30 a.m., which raises some concerns considering students are entering the building for class around that same time.
Students who are learning in school will get both breakfast and lunch at school. For those participating in hybrid or fully remote, parents can pick up meals starting at 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday.
Schools will continue to offer meals to adults. School officials say they're working on making changes to address those concerns about students’ safety. The Grab-and-Go program will be moving to after-school hours for adults. Those hours will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Changes are expected to begin next week when another wave of students start in-person learning.
