Town of Brookhaven traffic safety experts are showing teens that texting and driving can have serious consequences.

8ds agoApril is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month, and Town of Brookhaven traffic safety experts are showing teens that texting and driving can have serious consequences.
Instructors also made Ward Melville High School students wear special goggles that mimic what it's like to be drunk behind the wheel.
The course may have been in a gymnasium, but students say the stress was real. One 12th-grader says the course was helpful.
The Town of Brookhaven's driver safety program is partially funded through state grants.
