Fairfield County's annual 'Giving Day' kicked off in Norwalk Thursday.

The annual event gives people the chance to donate to more than 400 nonprofits that serve Fairfield County's 23 cities and towns.

Fairfield County's Community Foundation organizes the event each year since it started in 2014.

Organizers met at Pinstripes in the new Sono Collections Thursday morning. . 

They say nearly $7.6 million dollars has been raised for more than 1,000 nonprofits.

Those interested in donating can visit FCGives.org and search for the nonprofit of their choice.

Organizers say it's a 24-hour event, so donors have until 11:59 p.m. tonight to give back.

Last year, the event raised $1.7 million in donations.
