Family of BX bike crash victim sues city

Family members of a 10-year-old boy who was killed while riding his bicycle are suing the city over claims it failed to install a speed bump on a notoriously dangerous street, the New York Daily News reports.
Last June, Michael Needham Jr. was riding along Barnes Avenue when he was hit by a van. After 17 days in a coma, Needham died.
The victim's family claims in a $10 million lawsuit that the city should have known that drivers were speeding and failing to obey stop signs on that street.
The Needhams are also suing first responders and the driver of the van for $10 million each.
