SUNSET PARK - A stray dog that was rescued from Prospect Park and nursed back to health is on his way to a new home.

The pooch became known as "Ghost Dog" because he lived in the park for four years and would constantly disappear. However, once experiencing medical problems, he was taken in by Casey's Animal Rescue.

Now ready to be adopted, the dog, now called Ghost, is 5 years old and about 120 pounds. Workers with the rescue program say he needs an experienced owner because of his size and weight.

They say nearly 100 applications have already been submitted.
