1 dead, 1 wounded in Cypress Hill shooting

EAST NEW YORK - (AP) - Police responding to a wild barfight in Cypress Hill shot one man dead and wounded a second man.

According to police, patrons were firing guns and hitting eachother with barstools when officers arrived at the Norwood PalaceBar shortly after 3 a.m. Sunday.

The officers fired at a 19-year-old armed man in the doorway ofthe club. They also fired at a 43-year-old man as he fired shotsinside.

Police say the 43-year-old was taken to Brookdale Hospital,where he was pronounced dead. The 19-year-old was taken to Jamaica Hospital in stablecondition. Three guns were recovered from the scene. There were no immediate arrests, and no identities werereleased.
