BROOKLYN - One man is dead and another is wounded following a double shooting in Crown Heights last night. According to authorities, 25-year-old Thomas Martin was fatally shot by 1324 St. John's Place, near Schenectady Avenue, at around 7:30 p.m. They say a 24-year-old man was shot in the leg and is expected to be OK. Witnesses say they believe Martin was the intended target and that the second victim, whose identity has not been released, may have been an innocent bystander. Police say the investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.Residents in the area say they're fed up with the senseless violence. They say increased police patrols have done little to combat the bloodshed, and some say they believe the violence needs to be addressed in other ways.
