1 killed, 1 hurt in East New York shooting

BROOKLYN - Shots rang out in East New York early Saturday morning, killing one person and wounding another, police say.

Two 21-year-old men were hit with what neighbors describe as a barrage of bullets at around 2 a.m. in the backyard of 436 Atkins Ave. One of the victims was hit in the head and torso, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second victim of the shooting was wounded in the groin and taken to Brookdale Hospital. So far, no arrests have been made.
