BROOKLYN - Young Brooklyn residents learned how they can help shape their community during an event hosted by the Police Athletic League on Friday.

During the special interactive workshops, students learned the history of hip-hop, as teachers focused on community engagement through arts and culture. They also learned about the importance of volunteering.
