EAST FLATBUSH - Officials say 12 people were injured when a car jumped the curb and crashed into scaffolding on a sidewalk last night in East Flatbush.

Witnesses say they saw the car jump the curb and hit a group of people waiting for a bus outside of a Walgreens on Utica Avenue at Church Avenue. Among those injured were an 86-year-old man and a 3-year-old boy.

Police say the driver swerved and ended up on the sidewalk because she was trying to avoid hitting something in the road. The driver and her passenger were also injured, and were hospitalized with neck and back injuries.
