EAST NEW YORK - An East New York mother is searching for her son after he went to the store and never returned home.

Penny Cardona says her 12-year-old adoptive son Shawn Martinez went to the store on the Fourth of July and did not come back.

Martinez is described as being 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing 116 pounds. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black T-shirt with the words “Call of Duty” written on it and red and blue Adidas sneakers.

Each morning, Cardona posts fliers around the neighborhood and stops passersby to get his picture out.
