BROOKLYN - The 14th annual Greenpoint Veterans Memorial Day Parade was held to pay respect to the men and women who made great sacrifices for their country.

The parade route was along Manhattan Avenue.

Residents say they came out to cheer for military members in active duty, and reflect on those who have been lost.

Veterans say the parade means the world to them, and they are flattered when people come out to support them.

The day's events concluded with a Mass of remembrance for all veterans.
