The Carmine Carro Community Center will offer free health, fitness and cultural programs.

BROOKLYN - A brand-new $16 million community center has opened its doors in Marine Park.

The Carmine Carro Community Center honors the former president of the Marine Park Civic Association. It's free to the public with health and fitness classes, as well as art and cultural programs.

Borough President Marty Markowitz was among the city leaders who helped cut the ribbon Monday for the long-awaited project.
