BEDFORD-STUYVESANT - A teenager is in custody after police say he shot an 11-year-old girl outside of her home around 8:30 p.m. Friday.
Police say 17-year-old Kane Cooper was trying to shoot two men in front of the Bed-Stuy home. Instead, he allegedly shot Tayloni Mazyck as she walked outside.
Authorities say Mazyck underwent surgery at Kings County Hospital Center and is now recovering at Columbia University Medical Center. They say she is currently partially paralyzed.

Police say Cooper is facing charges of attempted murder, reckless endangerment and criminal use of a firearm.
