17-year-old struck, killed by van

A 17-year-old girl was killed early Saturday after she was struck by a van in Marine Park.The girl was struck at Avenue U and E.

BROOKLYN - A 17-year-old girl was killed early Saturday after she was struck by a van in Marine Park.

The girl was struck at Avenue U and E. 34th Street just after midnight. Police say the driver swerved to avoid hitting three other pedestrians.

The teenager was pronounced dead on the scene. Two of the three others were taken to Coney Island Hospital after the accident and treated for trauma.

The driver and a male victim refused medical attention. No charges have been filed against the driver at this time.
