2-alarm fire engulfs apartment building roof

BROOKLYN - A two-alarm fire tore through a four-story apartment building in Prospect Lefforts Gardens this morning.

Firefighters say the flames broke out in the space between the roof and ceiling of 67 Saint Paul's Place just after 4 a.m.

Fire officials worked quickly to break through the roof, but two apartments were damaged by at least 6 inches of debris, and others suffered significant water damage.

All tenants were able to safely evacuate the building.
