COBBLE HILL - Two local artists are spreading the word on safe cycling one paint stroke at a time.

Artists Miss BoomBox and Paz are creating a mural at Bergen and Smith streets to encourage Brooklyn bikers to wear helmets and to always engage in safe biking activities. They've been working for two days straight to send what they say is an important message.

Both have been in biking accidents and want to help other riders from making the same mistakes. Miss BoomBox was sideswiped by a car, hit a pothole and ended up with a $30,000 hospital bill she says would have been avoided had she been wearing a helmet.

Their next mural can be seen in Williamsburg next month.
