BROOKLYN - An attack today in war-torn Libya has left two Brooklyn-based photojournalists dead.Tim Hetherington was the Oscar-nominated co-director of "Restrepo," a documentary about a platoon of U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan. He was 40 years old.Also killed in the attack was Chris Hondros, 41, who worked for Getty Images. Getty said he "never shied away from the front line having covered the world's major conflicts throughout his distinguished career and his work in Libya was no exception."Borough President Marty Markowitz said Hondros recently photographed the AIDS quilt on display at Borough Hall.They were killed in the besieged city of Misrata while covering battles between rebels and Libyan government forces. Two other photojournalists working with them were injured in the attack.AP wire services contributed to this report
