BROOKLYN - Pope Francis appointed two priests of the diocese of Brooklyn as auxiliary bishops.

He appointed the Very Rev. James Massa and Rev. Canon Witold Mroziewski, who is originally from Poland.

Massa says, "My heart is pulled in different directions today. One direction is toward a sense of my own inadequacy to assume the office to which the Holy Father has appointed me, and the other is toward kind of a renewed joy, a real joy in the church."

Both men will be ordained on July 20 by the Most Rev. Nicholas DiMarzio, the bishop of Brooklyn.
