2 businesses gutted in Bensonhurst fire

BENSONHURST - Fire officials say a Bensonhurst fire destroyed two businesses Sunday morning, leaving behind charred debris.

Firefighters battled the flames for about six hours. Neighbors say the Kings Highway business owners are really nice people and feel bad they lost their livelihoods.

Officials say three firefighters suffered minor injuries in the blaze, which is the second to plague the Brooklyn neighborhood in two days.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
