EAST FLATBUSH - The NYPD says two female officers from the Department of Corrections have died in a two-car crash early this morning.

Police say the Nissan Murano the two officers were driving in was heading northbound on Kings Highway near Church Avenue when the driver lost control and crossed several lanes of traffic. It then crashed into a Ford Explorer, which was headed in the other direction.

The two officers have been identified as Tiffany Underwood, 31, and Africaque Smith, 43. Both were pronounced dead on arrival at Kings County Hospital. The 23-year-old man driving the Ford Explorer was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he's in stable condition.
