BROOKLYN - Neighbors say a couple was killed while walking their dog in Ditmas Park after getting pinned underneath an uprooted tree.

First responders found the man and woman dead at the scene on East 18th Street after a call came in at around 8 a.m. Neighbors say the trees fell during the height of the storm on Monday night, but they did not know anyone was trapped.

The dog was not injured.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg says there have been 10 storm-related deaths throughout the city.
