2 die in Flatlands house fire

FLATLANDS - (AP) - Two people have died in a Flatlands house fire.

Fire department spokesman Chris Larney says firefighters rushed to the Brooklyn home at about 5 a.m. Sunday.

The victims' identities haven't been released.

Larney says nine firefighters suffered minor injuries including burns; two of the firefighters are being treated at a hospital.

The spokesman says the fire in the Flatlands neighborhood was extinguished in less than 2 hours.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
