BUSHWICK - A fire at a Bushwick apartment building displaced three families and prompted more than 140 firefighters to respond Monday, leaving two hurt before the flames were extinguished.

One of the injured firefighters suffered a separated shoulder.

Traffic in the area shut down as a fire spread from an attic at 420 Evergreen Ave. to surrounding buildings, authorities say.

Officials said there were no civilian injuries, but the displaced residents will have to find temporary housing amid freezing temperatures.
