2 hurt in 5-car crash on Eastern Pkwy.

BROOKLYN - Two people were sent to the hospital this morning after being injured in a five-vehicle crash on Eastern Parkway.

The driver of a van that was involved in the collision says a fire truck was coming behind him on Schenectady Avenue, and he went through a red light to get out of the way.

That is when an oncoming livery cab smashed into the van, causing a collision with three other vehicles, according to the driver of the van.

The driver and the passenger in the livery cab were taken to the hospital. No word yet on their injuries.
