BROOKLYN - Police are looking for two men who allegedly tried to lure a young girl into their car in Fort Greene.

According to authorities, the suspects approached a 10-year-old while she was walking near Portland and Myrtle avenues at around 4 p.m. Monday. The men asked the girl to get in their SUV, but she ran away.

Investigators released surveillance images of the vehicle, which they describe as a BMW X3 SUV. Both suspects are described as 30-year-old black men.

Residents say this isn't the first time an incident of that nature has happened. They told News 12 Brooklyn that kids often walk around the area unsupervised, but with the weather getting warmer and more people out and about, they say it's imperative for parents and children to be more careful.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
