BROOKLYN - Two people were rushed to the hospital in serious condition after being struck by a car on Rockaway Parkway.

Fire officials say a car traveling near the intersection of Rockaway Parkway and Rutland Road in Brownsville just before 5 a.m. Saturday struck at least two pedestrians as they were crossing the street.

One victim was transported to Brookdale Hospital and the other was taken to Kings County Hospital. Both are listed in serious condition.

Neighbors who live near the scene say the intersection tends to be very busy.
