BROOKLYN - Some Brooklyn residents witnessed something new yesterday as two deer had to be rescued by police.

Officers aboard NYPD Harbor Launch No. 315 pulled the stranded male and female deer from the water under the Brooklyn side of the Verrazano Bridge.

The animals have been taken to Animal Care and Control.
