BROOKLYN - Police arrested two teenagers after a standoff at E. 99th Street and Avenue J in Canarsie Tuesday afternoon.

Witnesses say the standoff was the result of a possible robbery attempt at a Toys R Us at 2875 Flatbush Ave., but this information has not been confirmed.

In an attempt to elude police, the two suspects allegedly ran inside a home that was being searched by officers.

The owner of the home says police knocked on her door, asking to conduct a search. While the officers proceeded to the backyard, the woman went to close the front door. That is when she says the two suspects forced their way in and ran down to the basement.

The teens were eventually taken into police custody. No one was hurt in the course of the arrest.
