BROOKLYN - Gunshots rang out overnight in Brownsville, killing a young man.

It happened just after midnight at the Howard Houses on East New York Avenue.

Police say they found 21-year-old Simeon Allen laying on the ground in front of the Brownsville Early Learning Center with two gunshot wounds to his torso. He was rushed to Brookdale Hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Residents complain that gun violence in their neighborhood happens too often, and some say they want to leave the area because of it.

Authorities say no arrests have been made.
