Three people were injured in the blaze on Lafayette Avenue, including two firefighters.

BROOKLYN - An early morning three-alarm fire ripped through five apartment buildings in Bed-Stuy.

Officials say it started at 857 Lafayette Ave. at around 1:30 a.m. and spread to four neighboring brownstones. According to neighbors, the building where it started is abandoned.

Three people were injured in the blaze, including two firefighters, and the Red Cross is assisting affected tenants.

The cause remains under investigation.
