BROOKLYN - Mayor Bill de Blasio is planning to close three struggling Bedford-Stuyvesant schools at the end of the school year, citing low enrollment and high staff turnover.

The Panel for Educational Policy has to approve the closings before they can go into effect.

The Council of School Supervisors and Administrators released a statement saying it "looks forward to working with the Department of Education and the Bedford-Stuyvesant community during this difficult time to help affected students, faculty and staff make the transition to facilities that ably serve their collective needs."
