BROOKLYN - A high-rise fire in East New York sent at least five people, including three kids, to the hospital Tuesday morning.

The flames broke out inside the Pink Houses at 1308 Loring Ave. at around 11 a.m.

Officials say that one of the children is 3 years old and in critical condition.

A ladder was used to reach the other two kids, who are listed in serious condition.

An older man was seen being wheeled away from the scene, and authorities say the fifth person injured was a neighbor who suffered smoke inhalation.
