BROOKLYN - Three families are displaced after a fire ripped through a Cypress Hills apartment Saturday.

Firefighters responded to the two-alarm fire on Crescent Avenue shortly before 12 p.m.

The fire sparked in the basement of the two-story home and then spread to the first floor.

Two firefighters suffered minor injuries. Everyone in the home was able to escape without injury.

One resident was at work when she learned her home was on fire. She says she lost everything, including thousands of dollars in cash and now has no where to go.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
