3 more Brooklyn schools to be phased out

BROOKLYN - The Panel for Educational Policy voted last night to close three more Brooklyn public schools.

Parents of students at M.S. 571, P.S. 332 and P.S. 260 say they are outraged that their schools have been chosen to be gradually phased out.

Thousands of students, parents and teachers protested against the proposed closures of the schools. The Department of Education says the schools are consistently low-performing and do not serve their communities.

P.S. 114 was also on the chopping block last night, but the panel decided to delay the vote.

The panel also voted to phase out Metropolitan Corporate Academy High School and Paul Robeson High School in Crown Heights last Tuesday.
