3 NYPD cops acquitted in Mineo assault case

(AP) - Three New York City police officers have beenacquitted of all charges in an alleged sodomy attack in a subwaystation. The verdict came Monday.

NEW YORK - (AP) - Three New York City police officers have beenacquitted of all charges in an alleged sodomy attack in a subwaystation. The verdict came Monday. Officer Richard Kern faced as many as25 years in prison on a charge of aggravated sexual abuse. OfficersAndrew Morales and Alex Cruz faced up to four years in prison oncharges of hindering prosecution. Michael Mineo claimed Kern violated him with a police batonafter he ran from cops inside a subway station on Oct. 15, 2008. Mineofiled a $440 million lawsuit against the city.
