BROOKLYN - An attempted act of vandalism led to a horrific car crash that sent three people to the hospital in Bed-Stuy.

According to investigators, housing officers approached a man Sunday night who was allegedly trying to damage a car on Ocean Avenue. The suspect then fled the scene in a car heading eastbound on Myrtle Avenue.

Police say the man apparently ran a right light and t-boned a van, causing it to flip onto its side. He also hit two parked cars.

The suspect was taken to Kings County Hospital, and a passenger taken to Woodhull Hospital. Both are believed to be Hispanic men in their late 20s or early 30s, and both are listed in stable condition.

The man driving the van that was hit is listed in critical, but stable condition at Woodhull Hospital.

Cops say the investigation is ongoing and arrests are still pending.
