3 phony cops rob card players on McDonald Ave.

BROOKLYN - Three men posing as police officers were captured on camera robbing a group of men playing cards in their McDonald Avenue apartment Wednesday night.

The video, taken from the surveillance camera of a local resident who calls himself "Ziggy," shows the suspects waiting for the victims to enter the apartment, then frisking them at gunpoint and taking off with their cash and possessions.

?When the friends showed up, they had badges and they put guns to their head[s] and then put them against the wall and emptied their pockets,? Ziggy says.

Thanks to the video, Ziggy also discovered that the three robbers had visited the apartment building at 1683 McDonald Ave. earlier in the day.

Police say the apartment was targeted by the imposters because it may have been an illegal gambling house.

Detectives went up to the apartment to obtain a copy of the surveillance video for themselves so they could examine it and reconstruct the events of the evening.

Police ask anyone with information about the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS
