BROOKLYN - One man died after a fire at a home in Flatbush Monday, according to police.

It happened on Marborough Road near Church Avenue around 4:40 a.m.

Police say firefighters had the fire under control, but discovered 37-year-old Abiel Harry unconscious inside the home's kitchen apparently suffering from smoke inhalation.

Family members say Harry moved to Brooklyn from Pennsylvania just two days ago to help his uncle.

He was transported to Kings County Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say the fire is still under investigation.

A medical examiner will determine the exact cause of death.
