$4,000 reward offered in fatal stabbing of teen girl

BROOKLYN - Police and community members in Ocean Hill are offering a $4,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the fatal stabbing of a 16-year-old girl over the weekend.

According to authorities, someone used a box cutter to slit Kyanna Thomas' throat early Sunday morning. Many of her family members, who are corrections officers and involved with the Black Law Enforcement Alliance, are promising a $1,000 reward.

The Urban Community Council has also pledged $1,000 and Crime Stoppers is adding the final $2,000 for the suspect's capture.

Signs have been posted throughout the neighborhood urging people to help. Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
