FLATLANDS - A row of Flatlands businesses have been seriously damaged by a three-alarm fire early this morning.

The blaze broke out at around 1 a.m. Sunday and took 140 firefighters several hours to control.

Four businesses - a uniform store, Chinese restaurant, bagel shop and Chase bank branch - took the brunt of the damage. Neighbors say they are surprised to see so much destruction, especially since the buildings are so old. The uniform store has been in business for 80 years.

Officials say no one was hurt and that the fire is still under investigation.
