Four dollar stores in Brooklyn are being forced to pay nearly $500,000 in back wages for alleged labor violations.The state's Labor Department reached a settlement

BROOKLYN - Four dollar stores in Brooklyn are being forced to pay nearly $500,000 in back wages for alleged labor violations.

The state's Labor Department reached a settlement with Dollar Motion, Dollar X-Press, Dollar One and 99 Cent Dream after accusing the stores of failing to pay minimum wages and overtime.

State officials say anyone who worked at the stores between July 24, 2006 and May 31 of this year may be owed back wages and should call the Labor Department at 718-254-9410.
