4 LIU basketball players arrested after campus brawl

BROOKLYN - Four LIU Brooklyn basketball players have been arrested following a fight on campus last week.

Officials say 22-year-olds Julian Boyd and CJ Garner, and 21-year-olds Jamal Olasewere and Troy Joseph, have been charged with assault and suspended indefinitely.

Many students say the university took the right steps in openly handling the situation, but others say the players were unjustly vilified on campus.

The arrests leave the season in doubt for the Blackbirds, who have gone to two straight NCAA tournaments.
