BEDFORD-STUYVESANT - Eleven people were trapped and four were critically injured during a two-alarm fire in Bed-Stuy this morning.

The FDNY says the fire started in a three-story brownstone at 375 Chauncey St. around 9 a.m.

When firefighters arrived at the the scene, they saw smoke billowing out of the first and second floors of the building.

According to witnesses, at least two children were among those taken to hospitals. They say that some pets were also caught in the blaze and in need of treatment.

Some neighbors claim they saw a suspicious woman on the second floor prior to the start of the fire and believe the cause to be arson.

The building is now severely damaged, leaving six families without a home. The Red Cross is offering help to those people.
