4-year-old BK boy dies after attack by family dog

BROOKLYN - Police say a 4-year-old boy died last night after he was attacked by his family's pet dog.

Investigators say it happened at 2169 Pacific St. in Brownsville at around 9 p.m. They say that when neighbors heard a woman screaming inside her first floor apartment, they burst through the door to find the cane-corso mix brutally attacking the toddler, who was covered in blood.

Police say the victim, Jayelin Graham, had multiple bites on his head, neck and torso. He was pronounced dead upon arrival at Brookdale Hospital.

Officials say the dog was taken into custody by the city's Animal Control Services.

Neighbors say the family had three dogs and all seemed dangerous. They say there are three other small children in the family, including an 8-month-old baby.

Police say they've questioned the boy's mother, but no charges have been filed against her at this time.
