BROOKLYN - A towering, five-story sculpture is bringing a lot of sweet attention to the borough.
The 35-foot tall and 75-foot long sphinx-like figure is mostly made from of sugar. It can be found at the Domino Sugar Factory in Williamsburg.
Approximately 80 tons of sugar were used to create the mammoth sculpture. It is also made of 330 foam blocks that were carved by a digital sculpting house and by hand on site.
Officials say the whole on-site process took a 20-person crew 8 weeks to complete.
Smaller sculptures are also on display, depicting younger boys covered in molasses with fruit baskets containing sugar.
