5-year-old child shot in Bedford-Stuyvesant

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT - Police say a 5-year-old girl was shot in the leg in Bedford-Stuyvesant today.

Police say 24-year-old man was shot in the arm during the incident at Halsey Street and Throop Avenue. According to the Associated Press, a second man was also shot in the arm. Authorities searched the scene for the shooter with K-9 dogs, but have yet to find a suspect.

Both victims were taken to Kings County Hospital and are expected to live.

Witnesses say the shooting may be gang-related.
