BROOKLYN - A City Council committee has signed off on a deal to redevelop the former site of the Domino Sugar refinery.

The proposal for the site includes building 55-story towers on the waterfront property. The developer also agreed to certain requirements for affordable units.

Although the committee has given the green light for the project, the City Council will have the final vote on Tuesday.
